ISET- CSI Women’s Fellowship joint seminar for CSI BIBLE WOMEN



Joint Seminar for CSI Bible Women

Indian School of Ecumenical Theology  -Ecumenical Christian Centre organized a  Joint program with CSI Women’s Fellowship  for CSI Bible Women from the states of Kerala and Tamilnadu   from 18 to 21 May, 2010 at Ecumenical Christian Centre, Whitefield. Bangalore. The theme of the seminar was ‘Reading of the Bible with a contemporary perspective’

The seminar began with welcome and introduction of  Rev. Reji Samuel. The program was inaugurated by Rev. Dr. M. Mani Chacko who also brought the Key Note Address on ‘the Importance of Reading of the Bible   with a contemporary perspective’ .      

On the second day, after the devotion Rev. Dr. David Joy, UTC, Bangalore led two sessions on   ‘Understanding  the development of Bible’.  After the Lunch Rev. Manoj Samuel, GLTC, Chennai, dealt with How to Develop Communication.  Rev. Rayappan Isaac, TTS , Madurai, dealt about the preparation of  Bible Study and Preaching’.     
         
            On the third day  after the  Eco friendly Worship led by Rev Sudakar Joshua,  Rev. Rayappan Isaac continued  discussing on How to prepare a Bible Study & Sermons . Rev. Margaret K Kalaiselvi, TTS, Madurai  led two sessions :  Family relationship – Biblical Understanding of Marriage, Family & Gender Justice: Place of women, their roles, in the family and church. Mr. I.P.Santiago  discussed about Ecological concern: God’s creatio              

On the last day  Rev. Jeremiah  Anderson, Concordia, Nagercoil,    dealt with  How to relate the learning of the Scripture  to the current issues?   

In the concluding session Rev. Dr. M. Mani Chacko  inspired the participants to    read the Bible with contemporary perspectives . Ms. Synthia Sobha Rani,. General Secretary, C.S.I. Women's Fellowship. proposed vote of thanks.
